Dr. Eli Caruthers served as minister of the Buffalo and Alamance Presbyterian Churches in Guilford County, North Carolina, from 1821-1846 when the union of the two churches was dissolved, he continued to serve the Alamance Church until 1861, four years before his death. He was known not only as a theologian but as a historian. This is a collection of "Revolutionary incidents and sketches of character chiefly in the Old North State."
